Online Lesson Checklist
1. Check Your Tech
To study online you will need a computer and a good internet connection. If your connection is too slow or drops frequently, you are unlikely to benefit. You will need at least 1MBPS upload and download.
2. Check You Have Enough Time
My schedule is frequently booked up a few weeks in advance. If your test is this weekend (or next) then you have probably left it too late to benefit from my lessons. Ideally, you should take lessons before booking a new test date.
3. Book a Demo Session
In a demo session, we can chat about your objectives, and I will be able to assess how realistic your goals are. When applying for your lesson, make sure to give me as much detail as you can. We receive many lesson requests and do not reply to those that don’t sound serious. You will also be able to ask me any questions you have about IELTS or my teaching techniques. Once we are both happy, I will upload a lesson proposal to Google Drive.
4. Check Your Lesson Proposal
Once the schedule has been created, you should check it carefully. You can reschedule a lesson up to 6 hours before class, but if you miss a class or experience tech problems during the lesson, then the lesson cannot be rescheduled or refunded. Check our terms here.
5. Do Your Homework
Before our first lesson, I will send you some homework. If the lesson is for Writing, then you should return your first essay to me at least 24 hours before our first class.
6. Login to Zoom Early
Our lessons will take place on Zoom. Log in a couple of minutes later. You are all set on your path to success! After the lesson is completed a recording and a copy of all lesson material will be uploaded to your student folder.
Prepare for Success
You have several study choices.
The most effective way is to take tailored one-to-one lessons with an expert tutor. Click here to book a demo lesson and learn more.
Another way is to purchase a Writing Corrections Package. Your essays will be corrected by a professional teacher who will be able to tell you how close you are to achieving your goals, and what you need to do in order to progress.
A final way is to sign-up to one or our Live Webinars, or purchase a recording of a webinar we have already given.
