🗣️ Part 1 Questions: Restaurants
Question 1: Do you often eat at restaurants?
Answer: “Yes, I do—especially when I don’t feel like cooking. Sometimes I just want to enjoy a nice dining experience with friends, even if it’s a simple meal.”
Question 2: What kind of restaurants do you prefer?
Answer: “I usually avoid chain restaurants and go for local businesses instead. They tend to have a more unique menu and better ambience.”
Question 3: Do restaurants in your area get crowded?
Answer: “Oh yes, especially on weekends. If you don’t make a reservation, you might have to wait a long time—especially at popular places.”
🧾 Part 2 Task: Describe a Restaurant You Enjoyed

Question:
Describe a restaurant you enjoyed going to.
You should say:
- Where it was
- What kind of food it served
- Who you went with
…and explain why you liked it.
Sample Answer:
“One restaurant I really enjoyed recently was a Thai place in the city centre. It’s not a chain restaurant—it’s family-run, and you can tell they care about every detail of the dining experience.
The cuisine is traditional Thai, with lots of spicy curries, stir-fried noodles, and fresh salads. Their signature dish is a mango and sticky rice dessert, which was honestly amazing.
I went there with two colleagues after work. We made a reservation because it’s often quite crowded in the evenings. The ambience was warm and relaxed, with soft lighting and gentle music in the background.
What stood out the most was the service. The waitstaff were attentive without being pushy, and they explained the menu very clearly. It felt welcoming and professional.
Even though the food was delicious and the presentation was great, it was also affordable—which was a pleasant surprise. I’d definitely go back again. It’s one of those places that gets everything right.”
💬 Part 3 Questions: Eating Out
Question 1: Why do people enjoy eating at restaurants?
Answer: “I think it’s partly the change of environment and partly the convenience. You don’t have to cook or clean, and if the service and ambience are good, it becomes a relaxing social event.”
Question 2: How do chain restaurants compare to independent ones?
Answer: “Chain restaurants are more predictable—you know what to expect. But independent places usually offer more variety in cuisine and a more personal dining experience.”
Question 3: Do you think eating out will become more or less popular in the future?
Answer: “I believe it will stay popular, though maybe with more focus on affordable options and fast casual dining. People still want that restaurant experience, especially when the food and service are worth it.”
