School’s Out: IELTS and OET Teaching Stories From June 2024

Jun 30, 2024 | IELTS Test

We’ve been on the move, visiting the building site of our new environmentally friendly office and meeting with one of our long-term students in Leeds.

What we’ve done -

Where We’ve Been

We visited the construction site of our new office, which should be finished by November this year. It was built by Redcar, which was just voted one of the World’s most sustainable companies by Time magazine

We also met one of our students from Taiwan who travelled to the UK on holiday. It was a pleasure to meet Maggie in person (far left in the photo), and we are really enjoying the pineapple cakes she brought as a gift…

This month, we published a new Speaking model answer on the topic of apologies and a new Academic Task 1 essay based on three pie charts.

Our IELTS News Tracker highlights some of the key differences between the immigration policies of the two main political parties in the UK as an election takes place. It also tackles false reports of changes to the IELTS test.

All these can be found on our blog page.

Student Spotlight

This month, we spotlight Keiko from Japan, a medical doctor working in the UK…

Before meeting Andy, I was stuck trying to achieve a 7.5 in IELTS writing, which left me feeling discouraged and contemplating a career change away from medicine. Andy’s teaching was a game-changer. His lessons not only improved my general English skills but also specifically addressed the issues preventing me from hitting my target. Andy was by far the best English teacher I tried because of his ability to clarify complex grammar with ease. He is experienced, well-organized and dedicated. I am now working in the UK as a doctor as a result of his lessons and have managed to score highly in tests like OET as well. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their English or IELTS scores. — Keiko
