Read on to discover what we have been up to in March, what we have been reading and watching, who we have been teaching, and who has succeeded…
What We’ve Been Up To
As always, we have been busily employed teaching candidates around the world — some of whom have succeeded in getting the score they needed…
We have also found time time to read Lessons, by Ian McEwan and to watch the Hello Tomorrow! TV series.
Reading and watching programmes in English are both excellent ways to improve your English in a natural way. In fact, we have students who select a news article to read each week in their lesson.
What are you watching or reading?
Website News
This month we have continued our series of IELTS Writing Task 1 and 2 model essays. This month the Task 2 topic was about how technology is widening gaps in society and the Task 1 letter was to book swimming lessons at a local club.
We also published our News Tracker with news on immigration developments in New Zealand and Canada as well as an announcement by the IELTS partners that they reached the remarkable milestone of over 4 million IELTS tests taken worldwide last year.
Where Our Students Come From
We continue to meet students from a remarkably wide geographic area. Amongst last months locations were…
London, England (yes, we teach native speakers too!); Kyiv, Ukraine; Taiwan; Hong Kong; Beijing, China; Ankara, Turkey; Tehran, Iran
Student Spotlight
This month, we are putting Alla in the spotlight…
“In order to immigrate to Canada from Ukraine, I needed an IELTS 7.0 in Writing but was stuck at 6.5, despite scoring 8-9 in the other skills. This blocked my immigration journey, costing me money, time and heartache.
After just 4 lessons with Andy, I finally achieved the score I needed. I decided to continue with writing lessons and now expressing my thoughts and opinions has become effortless, thanks to Andy’s guidance and support.
Before Andy, I tried over ten different teachers. I was led to him because I recognized the importance of having a tutor who is a native speaker, an expert in IELTS, and an effective instructor. His unique methodologies to pinpoint common mistakes and provide effective bespoke solutions resulted in every lesson significantly boosting my score.
My husband and son then took writing and speaking lessons for 1-2 months, and their outcomes surpassed our expectations. Within just four lessons, my son’s scores soared to an impressive 9 (Listening), 7.5 (Reading), 7 (Writing) and 8.5 (Speaking). I wholeheartedly recommend Andy to anyone aiming for an IELTS score of 7.5 or higher.”
