Where We’ve Been

This month, we kicked off the first stage of our Speaking Fluency Boot Camp—a structured programme supporting international students already studying in the UK. It’s designed to boost spoken English and help students express themselves more confidently in both social and academic settings.

We also ran a trial session with GCSE-to-sixth-form students, focusing on the speaking demands they’ll face next term.

Student Spotlight

Yomna came to us with a clear goal: an overall Band 7 to apply for her master’s programme. But her writing score had been stuck at 5.5, leaving her discouraged and unsure if she’d ever qualify.

She took 16 lessons with Andy, focusing especially on writing. But the real transformation happened in just 11.

Through targeted correction and focused practice, Yomna’s score jumped from a 5.5 to a 7.0—enough to secure her place on the course she had been dreaming about.

“I think what Andy did was a miracle,” she said. “I was so down and I did not believe I could do it—but I did.”

Her story is a powerful reminder: with the right help, change can come quickly. And confidence can return even faster.

Now Yomna is moving forward, degree-bound and inspired.
