Where We’ve Been
November Highlights: Exploring New Opportunities for Students
On my recent trip to Queen Ethelburga’s for their Open Day, I was able to get an insightful glimpse into the school’s vibrant community and the range of opportunities they offer. The highlight for me was the chance to meet the current Head Boy, who shared his experiences with enthusiasm. He spoke about the breadth of activities available, even on weekends, and how these opportunities have helped him grow not just academically, but also socially and in his leadership role.
We also got to explore the King’s Theatre, the creative arts department, and a number of the science and music facilities. The emphasis on community, pastoral care, and extracurricular activities was evident throughout the day—and it was clear that the school aims to provide a supportive environment where every student can thrive.
If you’re an education agent, parent, or someone passionate about international education, stay tuned for more stories and practical tips from my recent experiences.
As always, feel free to connect if you are in the education industry—I’d love to hear your thoughts and discuss how we can work together to support students.

After two unsuccessful attempts, consistently scoring 7 in writing, he sought Andy’s expertise. Through a unique approach involving step-by-step dissection and correction of essays, Manzar identified and addressed his mistakes.
This method not only enhanced his writing but also bolstered his reading and listening skills. The result was an impressive overall band score of 8.5, with individual scores of Listening: 9, Reading: 9, Writing: 7.5, and Speaking: 8.5.
