September is usually a quieter month in the IELTS world as students have either gained or failed to secure their place at university.
Not so this year — there is still a great deal of interest in IELTS, and our work continues apace!
Where We’ve Been
This September, we have created new content for our website, sent our Task 2 book to the publishers and begun work on a book for Academic Task 1.
We have also met hundreds of candidates and helped many to identify the barriers that are holding them back.
Website News
Every month we update our website with new content and model essays.
This month we published a new model essay for a semi-formal letter to a gym. This one focuses on how to deal with plurals in bullet points — something which causes many test candidates to lose marks!
Our Task 2 model essay tackles a to what extent do you agree or disagree essay — this time on the subject of retirement age. Writing about the elderly is something that the elderly often seem to find difficult.
We have also published other pages to help you learn vocabulary and keep updated with international migration news.
Next month we will have a special issue highlighting our recommended top IELTS study books — so keep your eyes open for that!
You can find them all on our blog.

As specialists in online teaching, our students come from around the world. This month we met test candidates from…
Doha, Qatar; Cairo, Egypt; Amman, Jordan; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Taipei, Taiwan; Hong Kong; Beijing, China; Singapore; India; Jakarta, Indonesia; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Manila, Philippines; Darwin, Australia; Accra, Ghana; Bombay,
