Jan 31, 2020 | IELTS Test

2020 is shaping up to be a busy year!

IELTS Newsletter: What We've Done

Where We’ve Been

We haven’t ventured very far into the geographic world – but have been very busy online.

IELTS Training

This month we have taken a refresher course on our IELTS skills – the test is always changing, and it is essential to ensure that we are giving you the best and most up-to-date instruction possible.

If you need lessons – get in touch!

OET Training

Our teachers are currently receiving training in the teaching of OET from the organisation that runs and controls the exam.

OET is a test taken by those in the medical profession. It has been going for over 30 years and was first commissioned by the Australian Government.

Unlike IELTS, OET tests communication skills in a medical context.

We expect our teachers to complete their training in February.

Website News

This month we published some more model essays and letters.

Our first model was a formal letter of complaint about changes to a bus service.

We also tackled an Academic Task 1 Bar Chart. The task was to describe data presented on the number of Canadian internet users who shopped online.

New Webinar and Newsletter

Over the next few months, we will be introducing a newsletter and monthly webinar.

The webinar will focus on language-related skills which connect with the exams we teach.

Our first webinar will be on IELTS Reading – and contain a lot of vocabulary you could use in other parts of the test.

You can sign up to our webinar mailing list using a form at the bottom of our home page.

Student Spotlight

Today we shine the spotlight on Katsu from Japan. Katsu struggled to achieve Band 7.0 in Writing for a long time. We had to dig deep, but he finally achieved his score and started a new life in Canada…

I received the result tonight, and it was…

Listening 7.5, Reading 9.0, Writing 7.0, Speaking 7.0, Overall 7.5

I am so happy! Thank you so much for your continuous help! It was a long journey, but finally, I achieved 7 in writing.

I cannot thank you enough, and I appreciate your cooperation so much. Now I can move on to the next step of my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

When Can You Book An IELTS Lesson?

Our lessons are currently taking place from 8:30 am to 6.00 pm London time.

Our online booking system allows you to choose a time that suits your busy schedule. You can even reschedule your class up to 6 hours before its scheduled start.

Please contact us early – don’t leave it too late. It takes time to master new skills and contacting us a few days before your exam will probably be too little time!

We are also in demand – and our schedule can sometimes be filled a few weeks in advance.

If you would like to meet to discuss how we can help, contact us via our contact form or through our free demo lesson page.

That’s all for January!
