Unique Techniques & Tools

We have developed a suite of tools and techniques unique to our school.

Our lessons use a unique Contextual Double Correction © technique we developed ourselves. In a Writing lesson, this means you will leave with not one, but two corrections of each essay. Each correction will be slightly different and give you a different insight into your errors. Every Speaking lesson also begins with a written review of your most common errors and ends with an updated list

During the lesson, we waste little time writing down new rules – or looking at rules you already use correctly. Instead, our teachers call up an instant rule which will magically appear on screen with a few strokes of the keyboard. We call this tool our 80/20 Grammar Genie ©. It has taken us years to develop and will save you many minutes of class time.

The 80/20 Grammar Genie © doesn’t just save you minutes of class time – it also saves you hours of learning more complex rules. Your English doesn’t need to be 100% to get a band 8.0 – it just needs to be 51% correct. Our 80/20 rules are snippets that will help you to reach at least 80% accuracy in a fraction of the time.

At the end of every Speaking and Writing lesson, we leave you with a Linguistic Hit List which reduces your challenge down to a handful of rules you must master to achieve your goals. Everything else you can ignore – this saves you a lot of time you might have wasted on areas you are already proficient in.

What You Will Get

1. Personalised Lessons

You can throw away the textbook you used in high school because we will analyse YOUR English. In each and every lesson we will show you the precise areas you need to work on using the IELTS descriptors.

2. A Linguistic Hit List Of Your Most Common Mistakes

After each lesson, we will update a Linguistic Hit List of your most common mistakes. We aim to help you pass the test as soon as possible, by identifying and working on the exact areas holding you back.

The difference between a Band 6.5 and a 7.0 can be as little as one mistake, perhaps nothing more than a missing comma.

Many students only need to fix two or three areas of grammar to get their score.

3. A Video Recording Of Your Lesson – so you can listen again and again

We record every lesson and upload an MP4 and MP3 to your student folder.

For students we accept, we create a syllabus or roadmap designed to help you nail the test once and for all.

The IELTS teacher we assign you will upload your lesson schedule to your student folder so that you can see what you will learn before you pay.

Who Should Apply?

You should apply when…

• there is MORE than a month before your test date
• you have access to a computer
• you have access to a quiet place to take lessons
• there is enough time in your schedule for homework

You will also need an international debit or credit card.

Our lessons charge a fair price and lead to real success. Remember one of our lessons lasts twice as long as many other schools. We don’t watch the clock and our lessons can run over the scheduled time when necessary.
