A challenging year for many — with many more challenges to come. 2022 is going to see a real squeeze on our finances and some countries will fare better than others.

The good news is that borders are opening as countries start to accept the inevitability of it’s citizens catching Covid as often as they might catch a cold.

Are you ready for the challenges of 2022? Have you used 2021 to position yourself for success?

If not — get in touch and let us help you to start making those plans now!

Where We’ve Been

We ended the year by sending our new book IELTS Writing Task 2 — It’s not Rocket Science to the publishers. Expect to see it for sale early next year!

In December, our founder was interviewed by Imran Sayed for his podcast Men Who Inspire. We are pleased to see it has received a lot of views and likes already and hope it inspires others to IELTS success.

Here is a review of what we did in the rest of 2020…

In January, we were listed as one of Leeds City Region’s most innovative, digitally transformational and resilient businesses for the second year in a row…

February and March were spent in lockdown, but we attended several online IELTS workshops to keep us up-to-date on innovations in the IELTS test — including its increasing move towards being a test you can take online at home.

In April we interviewed Michael Hart of Halo Financial about the best way to move your money abroad. We also secured some special benefits for our  customers using their service — so get in touch if you would like an introduction.

In May, we featured in the 39th episode of the Two Geeks And A Marketing Podcast. The podcast features and references all the content we have been creating to help you get the score you need.

In June, we participated in research by the University of Lancaster about how university admission staff interpret IELTS results.

In July and August we were consulted by Cambridge University about our experience of working online with IELTS during the Covid pandemic. We also set up our new members area.

September saw us working on our soon to be release book and in October we announce a new partnership with Halo Financial. Scan this code to find out more…

Halo

In November, we stopped using Google Drive to store our student’s lesson files and have brought them within a dedicated and password protected part of our own website. Yes — everything we do in our lessons is recorded and uploaded so that you can make best use of the time we spend together.

A busy year!

Website News

In 2021 Mark joined our team and created new model answers for all Writing and Speaking sections of the IELTS test.

Mark comes from a professional journalist background and he his model essays were fresh and insightful — far better than what you will see in many places.

Just visit our blog page to browse through all the model answers we published this year.

There were also new podcasts (as noted above) and we continued to find and publish articles from around the net that contain the kind of high level vocabulary and ideas which will help you score well on IELTS test day.

IELTS Newsletter: Why We Teach

Student Spotlight

As Canada reopens its borders we end the year by shining the spotlight on one of our students who succesfully emigrated there after we helped him get the IELTS score he needed.

This is what he had to say…

Andy helped me immigrate to Canada

Andy was extremely helpful and helped me tremendously during my immigration journey, actually, he was the only reason I was able to move my IELTS score from 5 to 8. his approach was very effective with me by highlighting my mistakes and keep training me to fix these mistakes was very very helpful. He also helped me learn a lot of vocabulary and idioms in a short amount of time.
